Argosy Casino - Lawrenceburg, Indiana

Argosy Casino, Lawrenceburg, Indiana Argosy Casino

Budget:

$450 million total project including the boat and temporary facilities.

Opening

January, 1998

Architects:

DesignPlan, Indianapolis, Indiana and Ratio Architects, Inc.

Completed:

1998

Designed to be the "flagship" casino for Argosy Gaming, this exotic architectural design was the brain child of former Disney designer G. Lenzy Hendrix of DesignPlan. Jones & Phillips provided architectural lighting that won a 1999 IES Guth Award for interior lighting of all of the public spaces in the land based operations and the spaces leading to the boat, the pre-departure area light shows and the Mediterranean-based theme restaurants.

Through the mists of the Ohio River Valley rises a composition of red shingled turrets of another era. From these turrets extends what appears to be a turn-of-the-century cluster of white-sided Victorian buildings along the river bank with a grand side-wheeler riverboat moored at its side. This is the destination--the Argosy hotel, pavilion and Casino at Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Leaving your vehicle, you step from a world of reality into the pavilion, where exotic world ports call you to dining and entertainment experiences far above your wildest imagination, and where life-changing dreams can be realized on Argosy's Riverboat Casino. You are about to embark on an adventure around the world.
